Gordon Sparks of Pabineau First Nation in NB, is a mask carver and uses wood fibre to carve masks, and various animal materials to enhance them. These include fish leather, and bear and rabbit pelts. All fibre harvested by Gordon, both plant and animal, is harvested in ceremony. Gordon will present his approach to his process, the ceremonies and offerings he uses in harvesting and working with materials, and how the spirits his masks call to him.
